How to Install Rynglok® Axial Swage Fittings: A Step-by-Step Guide

The Eaton Rynglok® axial swage fitting system is a high-performance, leak-free solution for aerospace hydraulic tube repair. This guide breaks down the Rynglok® installation procedure into six clear steps, ensuring proper swage installation whether you're using a new or used Rynglok® tool.

✅ Step 1: Mark the Tube

  • Use the RTSG0‑01‑SIZE Rynglok® marking gauge to apply two marks:

  • Positioning mark (for placing the sleeve)

  • Inspection mark (to confirm proper advancement after swaging)

  • These marks are critical for a correct Rynglok® fitting installation.

✅ Step 2: Position the Fitting

Slide the Rynglok® fitting ring over the tube, aligning it with the positioning mark. This ensures the tube swaging system compresses the ring precisely where it needs to be.

✅ Step 3: Select the Correct Rynglok® Tool Head

Choose the Rynglok swage head that matches your tube diameter and system pressure. Eaton color-codes these heads:

Make sure you're using the correct Eaton Rynglok® tool compatible with your Rynglok® repair kit.

✅ Step 4: Align the Assembly Tool

Connect the hydraulic Rynglok® tooling system to a pump. Position the jaws of the tool around the fitting, ensuring proper alignment to avoid premature wear or off-center swages.

✅ Step 5: Swage the Fitting

Pressurize the pump to 8000–8500 psi. The Rynglok® sleeve will be radially compressed over the tubing. This step is the heart of the Rynglok® tube swaging system.

✅ Step 6: Perform the Final Inspection

Use the RTSG0‑51‑SIZE inspection gauge to confirm that the fitting has been fully swaged:

The sleeve should fully cover the inspection mark

The gauge should slide easily over the sleeve

This ensures a leak-proof connection—a critical requirement in aerospace tubing systems.
